You need to some research to find out
what is required to take a dog into USA.
what regulations apply to the state you are visiting e,g some require rabies vaccination, some breeds are restricted in some states
what is required to bring your dog back into UK.
What are the airline requirements for pet travel- crate size, drop off time etc.
What airports you can use for pet travel.
Google can help you find this information0 -
From a U.K. point of view you will need a pet passport and all relevant vaccinations (including rabies) for your dog to be allowed back into the country. They usually need a vet check a few days prior to travelling just to confirm they are healthy enough.
Different states in America have different dog rules/laws. Some need tags attached to the collar showing rabies vax status, some breeds are banned or restricted in some areas, some places are dogs on lead or in dog parks only whereas other are more relaxed.
Then as above you have airline rules and restrictions, some allow small dogs in the cabin on your lap, others all dogs are crated in the hold. Some require dogs to be medicated to fly, others don't.0
