Moving from ESA to UC

Sorry, another question!
Your current ESA amount seems odd. Can you check exactly how much you get - just in case we are missing something. If this is the amount you get into your bank account you need to look on your ESA award letter and tell us how the £104 has been calculated.0 -

You can ask for it to be backdated to the day your relative passed away.
And just to confirm that you do get an extra amount for being in the WRAG with your UC as your claim started before 3 April 2017.
Go on this link to find out how much you will get and use the calculator in the link.

Your daily living PIP and SDP will entitle you to the one bed rate of LHA and be part of your UC claim.

Don't forget to apply for council tax separately.
Just to check that this is correct can you confirm that you do not have savings over £6000?
Sorry for giving you the wrong information OP, I didn't realise that that payment was protected when others aren't. If only UC would be consistent it would make things a lot easier!Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.0 -

I tried all those 3 calculator multiple times and I still couldn't get an answer, that's the ones I was talking about in my initial post where it confused me even more. The best I found was £600 (not including PIP) but since I dont know If I was doing it right or if that sounds realistic I don't know.
Will the one bed rate be part of the UC?
Yeah nowhere near over 6k. Not even over 1k.pmlindyloo wrote: »Sorry, another question!

I get £102.15 a week.
£204 paid in every two weeks.
The letter says this:
The payment of ESA is based on your National Insurance Contribution records and any additional amount the law says you need to live on.
Your living expenses: 73.10
Limited capability for work addition
Extra money because you are in the worl related activity group: 29.05
Which gives a total income related amount 102.15

Wrote it out exactly as its seen in the letter.0 -
Have also tried various benefit calculators and they are 'rubbish'!
To recap.
Have you applied for the Severe Disability Premium today? This should be awarded to you on your current ESA claim (and hopefully backdated) as you are living alone, receive PIP daily living and no one claims Carer's Allowance for you.
You will be allowed up to the one bed local housing allowance for your area for your housing costs which will become part of your Universal Credit payment because you are receiving daily living of PIP (see my previous link) Unfortunately some of the calculators appear not to take this into account.
You will also receive extra money because you are in the WRAG group which will be added on to your standard allowance.
I am going to suggest that you go to CAB for a benefit check so you know what you will be receiving when you move.
As already said, the SDP is not currently part of UC so you will not get this when you apply BUT eventually it will be given to you and you should get it backdated to when you first claimed UC. (the legislation for this has not yet been passed - possibly in the autumn 2018)
PIP will continue as normal as a separate payment.
You apply for council tax reduction separately from your local council.
It all sounds very complicated hence the suggestion that you go to CAB and they should print off their benefit calculation for you.
You will have to wait 5/6 weeks for your UC payment. However, you can ask for an advance payment (speak to CAB about this)
Good luck with everything!0 -

I didn't but I will be doing it Monday. I gave the Job centre a ring to book a phone appointment and ask them the same questions, she said she'd ring me back so i was too scared to use my phone all day, she never got back to me in the end either haha! I'll be definitely ringing ESA to ask to apply for it on Monday though.
Yeah when I checked the calculators some didn't take into account PIP at all even when you could select it, was so weird!
What is CAB? Sorry I'm not well versed in the terms.
Thanks for taking time to help me, it has helped a little haha! In the end as long as I'm not in the negative then I'll be alright.0 -
