Selling my car - should I service it?

Thank you for your help everyone. In the end before getting it serviced I managed to sell the car to a friend of a friend for £1500 which I was v happy with! They took it for a service and had no problems. I have learnt my lesson and will make sure to remember next time though!0

I didnt change the oil on my Nissan Almera for about 4 year and it was going strong to the point I part exed it. A fuel filter can go a decade without needing to be changed. This changing the oil and filter every 6 months is madness and is why the whales are dead.0

Fuel filter might last longer but oil & filter on correct interval is essential if you want the car to last (that interval may not be every 6 months unless you're doing massive miles)
No oil change for 4 years is madness!Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.0 -

I think there's some truth to this, but I think part of the confusion is down to the way mineral used to breakdown when heated and cooled repeatedly. Using mineral oil for a year or more and it would begin to turn to sludge and then you had a real problem on your hands. Synthetic oils don't break down as much..... in fact, most cars they don't break down at all. You still see it on some turbo'd cars where the engine is essentially running too hot (A4 B6 1.8T is a good example) but most vehicles don't actually have this problem anymore.
That said, I still prefer to change my oil at the correct intervals. Microscopic fragments of metal are slushing around your engine remember? These all need to come out occasionally.0 -

I had one for a few years, no offence but... cheaply [Brazil] made crap. Not even good on fuel.
Chucked mine through WBAC as to many faults to fix.
Cheers
VW at its worst tbh. Wasn't fit to lace the boots of the Lupo.0
