I took a small business to court over the fitting of our karndean flooring and won.
Take pictures, don't touch anything. We had an independent assessment done which we paid for but claimed back through the courts.

Much easier to get the supplier/ fitter to sort it. That route hasn’t been exhausted yet0 -
I asked them to remove the current flooring then refit a new one by the end of next week.
They are claiming they can't get the vinyl delivered until another week or so.
I have therefore asked for a full refund and the flooring removed which they were very quick to agree to. They don't seem to know what the issue is so I'm guessing aren't keen to try again.
The refund will have to be half from them and half from the fitter. I'm not sure the fitter will be keen to refund so might have a battle on my hands.
If the fitter won't refund, can I make the shop refund the fitting amount then they can pursue the fitter for it? They employed him but I had to pay him directly. He was wearing a tshirt with the shop logo on when he did the fitting.Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -

Who was your contract with regarding fitting? If you paid the fitter directly, it seems he may be self employed. In any case you can't "make" the shop refund, you can only ask them to refund. Then if neither shop nor fitter will refund the fitting charge, you will have to decide which one or even both of them to pursue via the courts to get your money back.If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0 -
When advising a customer that the floor need screwed down marine ply, he said I'll do that myself.I said I fix it down in 9" squares so that it doesn't bubble. He did a very good job of cutting the ply sheets into 9" squares and screwing them all down.He said it took him ages!!0

The fitter is self employed but he has been employed by the shop. They instructed him to fit the vinyl.
I just had to pay him directly. Apparently this is normal for flooring shops?!?!Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
