Groupon

Some of the discounts on Groupon are a joke! I got an email from them today stating there was a 63% discount on a Swan 13 piece Retro kitchen set. They are selling this set for 169.99 - apparently it was for sale at 457.93 on the Deluxe Homebrands website on 15.5.18. Wow, what a saving! However I checked Currys website today and these 13 items can be bought there for 202.93 - that definitely ISN'T a 63% saving. I have often found this - that Groupon state the price an item cost on the most expensive website then advertise their price as a massive discount when in fact the item can be bought on other websites for prices which are not much more, often the same and sometimes less than the Groupon price! This is very misleading and can entice customers to buy the Groupon thinking they are saving a fortune when in fact they are only saving a fortune if they were to buy the item on the website stated in the Fine Print! I admit I have got very good bargains on Groupon (especially hotels) but customers need to check out the prices on several websites to see what the true discount is on Groupon.

They've not said the cheapest price on the internet is £457.93 so what's your issue?

Irregardless, it's still a chunk cheaper than the cheapest price you found so yippee! (I love the Swan Retro range-we bought the bin, digital microwave and fridge freezer at various points through Groupon as they were cheapest each time. Bought our tea caddies from Argos because that was the cheapest place)
