Hi, I really need some advice so hoping someone can help!
I've recently started getting a new roof done, and was planning on paying the invoice via credit card and then paying off the credit card balance on payday in 5 days. However, I have only just been told, that the roofing company do not accept credit cards, then want the money today! I don't have enough in my account, so what do I do?
Can I get a payday loan and then instantly pay it off with my credit card? Or is there any money transfer cards that can have the money in my account tonight??
Please help because Im stressing so much!

Well it is now nearly 7pm, as they still there or have they gone home?
I suggest you talk to the office of the workers tomorrow, as tel lthem you will pay in 5 days.
What were the payment terms on the written quote you had? you did have a quote in writing didn't you? so there is no argument over the price.Breast Cancer Now 100 miles October 2022 100 / 100miles

Do not get a payday loan, your credit file will be ruined the moment you take one out.
If you don't have it they will have to wait unfortunately, 5 days isn't the end of the world for a legitimate company.
You could always try and withdraw money over a couple of days from the credit card but it's usually at a higher Intrest rate, or take a loan from your bank I know my HSBC account pretty much puts the money in my current account straight away if I've ever had a loan online.0 -
I'd go down the the bank loan route. Lots of adverts from banks saying same day payout.
I'm surprised methods of payment aren't on the schedule of works and I'm also surprised when having a roof done you'd pay by credit card.
OP- When you say you will pay off the balance on the credit card do you mean the interest on the balance or the entire amount borrowed?
If its the entire amount then you must earn a lot.0 -

This also reflects poorly on OP. What Contract was agreed? Then before work started an everyday question is "how would you like to be paid, and when?" To make assumptions on payment is crazy. To not have the funds to finance works is also crazy.
OP should not be paying until the work is completed and OP has been given the opportunity to inspect it for faults and issues. This is everyday common sense.
An invoice should then be raised, giving OP the opportunity to make the payment within the agreed, or reasonable, period.
If the money is not there then OP needs to discuss, and negotiate, with the contractors. A reputable, local, contractor is not going to have an issue with money being drip fed over say 2-3 months. But this depends on OP being honourable and genuine.
For money without using the payday loans route there are Credit Unions, family members, friends. OP has not mentioned exploring any of these.
Everything about the post regarding both OP and the contractor comes across as needing more info. But based on what has been written alarm bells are ringing.0
