Has anyone significantly upped their DD so that they get more cashback from Santander, if they bank with them of course?

I was thinking of doing that with Scottish Gas, however I am over £170 in credit with a DD of £90 a month
over 73 but not over the hill.

Personally I would say you may do better to reclaim a chunk of the credit. The cashback only generates £2 for every £100 that goes out and you'd still have a chunk of money sitting in a supplier account doing nothing for you.

A better option may be if you have the regular 123 account is to remember that that generates 1.5% on the entire amount up to £20k, or £297 a year (about £25 a month less your fee). Or the top easy savings account at 1.35% which on £20k is effectively £22.50 a month.
