Glide Utilities and MIL Collections

Please help!

September last i moved into a shared property for a year at uni, and the previous occupants were using Glide, a bills management company. Because of our lack of organistion, we had to stay with them for upwards of 2 months whilst our bills management company took hold of the address (n.b don't use these companies, they're useless).

Fastforward a month or 2, and Glide utilities are requesting payment of £238 for a "Final Bill". I had already paid what i thought was the final bill, so was shocked. After many weeks of providing them with meter readings from the date of the account closure, and their seeming reluctance to do anything with the information, i was provided with an amended bill of somewehrre in the region of £70-80 (i can't remember).

Fastforward to last week (July 10th) and i get an email from MIL collections, saying a bill of £238 is outstanding on my Glide account. I sent them a strongly worded email, stating that the account had been settled and closed upwards of 6 months prior.

They seem to be having none of it, as i got another message yesterday on a similar note. I have emailed Glide, requesting them to call off the hounds as it were.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers
