Nicotania
Options
We have them growing here and there but never planted any. They grow in some strange positions which they change every year.
Ten have now started growing underneath a large rose bush and I want to transplant them.
I've lifted and moved a few and even though they've only grown in this position this year they have quite a big tap root.
If I don't manage to lift all the tap root will they then die off?

It's your money. Except if it's the governments.

Nicotania are really annuals in the UK - they only survive as short lived perennials in much warmer climes.
Yours will have self-seeded from last year's plants. You may be ok moving them - but you would have had a better chance of success if you had transplanted the young seedlings earlier on in the year.
Remember that all parts of nicotania are toxic.0 -
Thanks.
The missus only spotted them this week.
I would have transplanted earlier if we had found them.
They always flower late here - late August into September. It's your money. Except if it's the governments.0 -
