Broken Blender - No Warranty

Hope someone can help and sorry if this is the wrong place to post!

I bought a blender from Tesco in October last year, i should have registered for a warranty within 30 days for it to be valid but forgot to do that, now the dial on the blender is coming loose and it seems if we use it a couple more times it will just fall off.

We've only used the blender a handful of times and pack it away when it's not in use so this wasn't accidental damage, it seems like it might have been a bit rubbish in the first place.

Does anyone know if i have a leg to stand on either with Tesco or the warranty company

This is the product btw from Tesco -VonShef 4-in-1 Blender Catalogue Number:253-0277

    Did you speak to Tesco ?

    Do you have the receipt ?
    If no receipt did you scan your clubcard ? The store might be able to bring up the purchase using it.

    Yes, i purchased this online so i have an email confirming the purchase but i wasn't sure if Tesco could do anything about this with it being almost 9 months since i bought it.

    Just contact Tesco and show them your proof of purchase (the e-mail) and the chances are that they will replace or give you a full refund with no problem.

    Was it sold by Tesco or was it sold by soneone else on Tesco?

    They do seem to sell other things on there from other suppliers. Kinda like a market place for other businesses.

    If it was sold and delivered by Tesco, just take it to a store with your receipt and see what they say. BUt if it was from another supplier, you might have to take it with them.

    Your statutory rights with the retailer still apply whether you registered or not. Warranty registration is just a method to sell you extended warranties and harvest your details to sell on.
    All you need is proof of purchase.
    No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

    The matter to determine is who actually sold the item. Tesco, like Amazon, acts as a Marketplace for other sellers to sell goods. Somehow, I doubt whether Tesco will match Amazon for customer service.
