Apologies for starting a new thread. Can’t seem to find any recent success.
My story. Got a car through YCC in 2001. Traded in for a new car in Nov 2003. If memory serves correct, this was all paid off late 2007 or early 2008.
When signing the paperwork, was told I had to take out their payment insurance.
As said, the full repayments were made. No defaults.
Attempted a PPI claim through a third party in 2013 which was unsuccessful. Had the agreement number (and think I still do somewhere).
Any point in attempting to make a claim again? It really grips me that so much of my monthly payments and interest went on this (total monthly repayments of around £350
).
Thanks for any advice.

Your complaint failed as the package was taken out pre-regulation, complaining again will result in the same rejection and will be time barred as the complaint was done 5 years ago
Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:
People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

it was always going to fail. Surprised the CMC even bothered.
2001 is four years before car dealers were regulated. So, even if they still existed they did not have to consider your complaint. As they dont exist, that only leaves the FSCS. However, they will only consider sales made after regulation (which yours isnt).Any point in attempting to make a claim again?I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
