battery power charger

when I plug my mains charger in my laptop it dosent always charge my battery ,not sure if its the laptop or the charger .if I take the battery out & plug in the charger it shuts laptop off unless I jiggle the end where it goes in side of pc then it will work for a while thanks

could be either.

firstly, i would try and borrow another known working charger to rule that out/in. if charger is working then its more than likely the power jack socket on laptop that is damaged. some are easier to replace than others so you will need to decide whether it is cost effective.

if you post you laptop model no on here someone may be able to help further
