Yes it's an obvious scam and hopefully no one on here would fall for it but I see these jobs over and over again on Facebook groups. I always try and warn people but have actually been removed from one or two selling sites for 'scaremongering' . Locally there have been some people who have lost money, albeit not on a huge scale, but money nonetheless.
Please if you know anyone vulnerable or a bit naive do warn them about these obvious scams. The only way we can stop these scumbags is for people to report these 'job offers' when they see them and stop people becoming victims.

Ouch, I guess the scammers won't stop even though they're getting banned from eBay & are now using these poor pawns to complete the scam.
The other issue is Natwest will Blacklist him & put a Fraud marker on his Credit File, as he has now become part of the Fraud Gang.
I love that Paypal have refunded his fee's, although they would anyway on a full refund.0 -
I wonder ... would it be possible for a police officer impersonating a scammable person to get enough information to prosecute/move forward an investigation? If so, how many police officers doing such work would it take to make the scammers think they're more likely to lose out than gain by doing this?0

Too many.
There is always another scammer.0 -
All they are likely to divulge will be a throw away phone number and an email address which will track to a shared connection where someone with a made up name just moved out and the occupants don't know where they moved to.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0
