Stressed about RBS mortgage application, any advice?

I'm extremely stressed and would really appreciate if someone is able to put my nerves at rest (if that's even possible lol!). So me and my partner have our mortgage application over the phone tomorrow with RBS. We are applying for a 95% mortgage. We both have different positives about our financial situation. He has rented for years, always paid bills on time and puts money away every month. But he doesn't have much of a credit history so his score is only fair on experian. I have an excellent credit history, put money away (although not as much as him) and sometimes I'm left fairly short at the end of the month (due to buying unnecessary things such as clothes) but never in an overdraft. We didn't have the chance to cut back on spending a few months before the mortgage application due to us not planning to get a mortgage until next year, but our dream home came of the market in our price range so we had to put an offer in as it was too much of a good opportunity! Do you think given our circumstances that we have a good chance of getting a mortgage with RBS?

It's impossible to give any kind of advice without knowing the numbers and therefore affordability.0

I use Natwest (which is a subsiduary of RBS) on a near monthly basis.
In the last 3 years I have never had an application declined by them once it has passed the initial DIP. Even the cases pulled for audit have gone through without a hitch. In fact I remember a client of ours going to Natwest via another broker and getting declined. I then submitted the case to them 2 weeks or so later and had it accepted.
As far as lenders go, I quite like them.
But as AMN says, they could accept 100% of applications and yours could be the first they decline. You will no doubt worry about the initial decision, then you will worry about the application until an underwriter looks at it, then the survey, then the offer between survey coming back and being assessed and then the legals and so on until you pick up the keys.
It is fairly common. Easier said than done, but dont worry. Again, as amn says, if Natwest do decline you, there are other options.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it.
