Just a line to say that CCBC refunded me the full amount plus 50 pounds compensation...not such a foolish idea after all ;-)
Coupon-mad - sincere thanks for your help and guidance.
Hopefully others in a similar situation see this post and can get a refund as well.

Thanks for the feedback SS, pleased you got your money back. I've been planning to complain to CCBC but been busy and not got round to it yet. Fortunately I didn't part with any money, but received the post on a Saturday so had the stress of waiting all weekend before ringing them to find out what the hell was going on. Then there was the hassle of checking my credit rating. They should be compensating everyone who got slapped with a CCJ due to their mistake.0

Get your MP involved. Appraise them of the stress PPCs and their lapdog solicitors are placing on the small claims court system throughout the country, to the extent that innocent individuals are receiving erroneously issued CCJs (some who won't be aware of them for some months/even years to come) which might affect their ability to obtain loans/mortgages, even their employment status/prospects.
Get them fired up on this.Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
