Every thing I've ordered China has not been what it claimed to be and I've now given up.

I buy quite a lot of things, you just need to actually view all the ohotos, read all measurements and materials carefully. Quite often there is a bit of overselling going on, but you can usually weed out the worst sellers.

Some claim there's organised gangs in China selling very cheap items on eBay.
And some say the Earth is flat.

And the first group of people would be right while the second group would be wrong.

The funny thing is that it's more expensive to buy the same item in China itself.

What odd responses. Seem as almost everything "tech" these days is either made in China, or largely made with components made in China, I can't see how the choice of route of buying anything "tech" changes any of this.

If anything, buying direct from manufacturer or local Chinese wholesaler in China probably means more of your money goes to fund the factory.

Buying Chinese goods locally, via retail involves a whole string of middle men, importers, shippers, repackers and wholesalers, all adding margin and driving down input costs, meaning less money back to the factory.

Goods may be made in China and for the likes of the big brands et al you may think you are bypassing the "whole string of middle men....." but those "middle men" make sure the items you buy are suitable for the UK market, be that safety-wise or purely being legal here. That's without complying with import taxes/VAT etc.

    Those things cost.
