New Candy washing machine - soap dispenser not closing?

Hi
I got a brand new Candy washing machine delivered on Friday.
On unpacking, I noticed the soap dispenser tray to my eyes seems to stick out way past the rest of of the machine, and to my eyes the gap seems a bit much. I think the bit that receives the soap tray is too far out relative to the rest of the machine causing the tray also to close too far forward. I could hide this huge gap by putting it back further into the recess, but just want to check if this is normal first.
I've called Candy (they've seen the photos too) and they are non-committal and want to send someone out - with a call out charge if its fine!
Could I ask for some opinions are to whether you think this looks right? If the consensus is that this is normal on Candy washing machines, I'll cancel them coming out. I do have the option to return if need be, but obviously repacking and repalleting it is a worse case scenario!

Thanks in advance!

Looks like a right bodge build to me.
Does water leak out of here when the machine is in use ??
It looks like it might do to me either now or in the future.
Personally I would be returning the machine.

Thanks, it doesn't look right to me either!
Its remarkable hard to find a side on view of these via Google images, but I managed to screenshot a side view out of a Youtube video
To me, the tray here sits flush to the body of the machine without the gaps, unlike mine.0 -
That looks like it's had a bang. I'd be returning it, too."If you think it's expensive to hire a professional to do the job, wait until you hire an amateur." -- Red Adair0

Does the drawer come out (for cleaning)? If it does, try taking it out and putting it back in, taking extra care to line everything up properly. I have a Hotpoint but it's easy to put it back on the runners slightly wonky and then it doesn't close properly.0

Looking the supplied photo, it's not just the soap tray that's misaligned.
The trim at the top is also loose and like pimento, I would also say that it's had a fair knock.0 -
I wonder if its been dropped at some time when in the warehouse, the front panel is coming away from the frame, would not accept this as brand new,who unpacked it and carried into the house?0

Right so Hotpoint / Candy came around to look at it, and they confirmed it's not right - the repair guy spotted the main door wouldn't open unless it was lifted while pulling the release too. It's not really repairable as it's damage to the case so everything is mis-aligned.
Very helpful service from them.
Thanks to everyone who took a look!0 -
