Thank you all so far for taking the time to advise.

    To clarify.
I have an employment contract, but am still waiting for a copy....should be today.
I work Mon to Thursday 9 am to 2pm
Fridays 10 am to 2pm, but I tend to work overtime where needed.

The work required is heavy and you are on your feet a lot. He cannot change the job to feeding chickens etc as his landlord says that the job needs to be my main form of income.

He will need the cottage anyway for a student or new farm worker who can carry out the work required.

Bless him, he's tried to look at options, but has one mean Landlord himself and, with his added metal health I just do not want to push him.

I can't really retire from work as I'm capable of carrying office work etc.

Thankyou for the person who mentioned that a section 8 could work.

So, is there anyone on here who can tell me if it's me who needs to hand in notice or my employer needs to terminate my work etc?
