Hi all,
About 8 yars ago I had a credit card with Natwest that I maxed out and couldn't afford to pay back. Natwest transferred the debt to Triton credit services and they have been taking £20 by standing order every month ever since. The debt was about £2500 at the time but I don't remember the last time I had any paperwork or statement to show the balance now. I recently tried to find contact details for Triton so I could call them and find out what the balance was and pay it off but I have found out that they no longer exist! Can anyone advise what to do now? Should I cancel the standing order as I don't even know who I am paying it to anymore??

Triton was the in house debt collector for RBS, NatWest's parent, so no doubt your money has been going to RBS debt collections.0

So do you think I can contact RBS to find out the balance owed?0

Either them or Natwest0

I find it amusing how these companies morph and shift around over the years, but the debt always manages to remain intact, with the customer not finding out about the company changes until they check for themselves.Advice provided from this account does not consist of any professional knowledge. There must be other ways to contact them than the independent premium rate number linked in post 5
Firms are supposed to provide at least an annual statement.0
