Click and Collect - Argos

I have just sold a toy on Ebay and when I went into print the buyers address out some how they have opted for click and collect at Argos is this something new that Ebay just offer without the seller having a choice? I do not sell much on Ebay and this is the first time it has happened is there anything different I need to do.

As the toy sold for over £20 I had planned to send signed for at no extra cost to the buyer - is this worth it now its going to Argos for them to pick up?

Thanks again for any guidance.

Should make zero difference to you. You post it the same. It maybe they work when the post arrives and have an Argos handy.

My local Argos is a lot closer than the royal mail depot.

As for the setting, its something you need to keep checking for when listing, lots of things get randomly activated. Check every listing as others have found countries they dont post to re-enabled etc.

If you scroll down to the opt out section you can opt out of the service. From memory it won't change live listings, you will have to do that manually.

I removed the Argos Click and Collect option from anything I sell after the first time I posted something to a Click and Collect address the buyer didn't collect it and then she requested a full refund from me. Argos didn't even return the uncollected item to me. I had to submit a complaint to eBay and in the end they decided to refund the seller

I have now removed Click and Collect from anything I plan to list and I will double check that it does not show on anything else I list. Just hope the buyer collects.

Why would you remove it? You still have a UK address to post to.

I removed it from my business account as I went through a period where approx 1 in 3 of my Argos items were not collected. Yes I got them back but I lost out on my outward postage.

I emailed the buyers, most didn't respond, but from memory 2 wrote back saying they forgot they had chosen click and collect and it wasn't really convenient anymore.

As well as not bothering to collect I also had a lot of faffing around for some where Argos delayed checking them in, I had to phone and persuade staff to,prioritise my items to release them. However I got at least one late defect for that.

Fair enough. You have to wonder how something they select isn't convenient.

I wondered that as well, it got silly though, I've tried re enabling it twice on my business account but had so many issues it just wasn't worth it.

I have had it automatically applied to my private accounts and have left it, but only had one click and drop so far. I think perhaps because the 'private' stuff tends to be one off, old things, hard to find people are more inclined to collect. Who knows though :)

Thanks everyone for helping. Item was delivered to Argos this morning and the buyer has collected it. Happy buyer, happy seller and thrilled two year old recipient.

I have never sent click and collect before so was a little wary as when I used it the parcel was delayed once it reached Argos.
