I'd say you are better off staying out of such a transaction if you don't like the idea of a builder having all the control.
In my experience people frequently want everything their own way! Depending on how much they want a specific house depends on what they're willing to compromise on.0 -
Not sure who told them that though - six of one, half a dozen of the other. It's like Chinese Whispers trying to buy a house, plus one party is often very quick to lie and blame the other. Update: We have agreed a fixed completion date for my buyers of the 28th of September, I gave my go-ahead to exchange based on a fixed date for my buyers and an 'on notice' for myself. However the developers are unwilling to accept a clause that they can't serve notice to complete before the 28th (else for obvious reasons, i won't be able to complete as my house won't be sold...).
Apparently they are unwilling to accept this and my solicitors are negotiating. Feels like common sense to me...0
