Help please! 08 Astra boot not opening

Hi I’m hoping someone can help me please.
My boot is no longer opening, it worked fine then half an hour later nope. It’s been suggested to me that it might be a fuse so took it to halfords today, they checked the fuse box that’s under the bonnet but it was all fine. They said there is a 2nd fuse box on the boot so I’ll have to try crawling in to get to it via the back seat.
My question is, in the 2008 model of car I have, is the fuse that controls the boot located in the fuse box that’s actually in the boot? Does anyone know what number it is please and how I would know by looking at it if that is the problem?
Thanks in advance?
Lauren

I'm afraid that I don't know about the Astra, but a lot of modern cars suffer from broken wires in the part of the harness that goes across the hinge, which stops wipers and or electric boot locks from working.
However, there will be a way to open the boot manually from inside, usually you have to struggle to remove some plastic trim, and there will be some sort of lever on the actual lock body, usually on the side you can't see.
Try asking how to open the boot manually in a vauxhall forum.I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....
(except air quality and Medical Science)

There is no way to do this on my car, as I found when I trapped some fabric in the locking mechanism...0 -
Is it an estate or hatchback?
Either way it is possible to open the boot from the inside, did this the other day on my 56 plate, so it should be similar

then you need to look at the instructions for checking and then repairing or replacing the switch mechanism. Mine was exactly the same, got worse and worse over time. Replaced the switch mechanism and it has been 100% fine ever since. As said though, check the switch first as it could be wiring or the lock mech itself.0 -
Is the windscreen washer pump still working? It shares the same fuse in some models as the boot release mechanism. It's a common fault in the winter where folks try to use the washer when the washer fluid is frozen and it blows the fuse. Unlikely to be the same cause in this weather I would guess! - but the fuse could have gone anyway so worth a check. As far as I recall the fuse box is under the bonnet for the washer pump and there is no fuse for the boot in the boot.
