Dishwasher died after 4 months - what are my rights?

My dishwasher died last week within 4 and a bit months and I'm trying to work out what my rights are.
I'm being given the Runaround a bit by the supplier (AO) who are saying that I need to contact the manufacturer but reading MSE it seems the burden lies with them to prove it wasn't faulty on sale (which seems it must have been)

Am I within rights to push for a refund or do I have to follow the steps they say and contact the manufacturer to send out someone to repair?

Frankly given it died so soon I've lost confidence in the device so would just like a refund replacement - feel a repair will just be followed by a lifetime of pain...

Is that your email as the post title? If so, I would remove it.
Edit: Just seen you have loads of posts, so it cant be, and I must just be missing something.

Although it is considered inherently faulty within 6 months they have the right to inspect it to confirm it is in fact faulty. You could insist that they organise the inspection by their expert - who will be the manufacturer approved service agent - or take the easy option and organise it yourself and consider your options once they have looked at it. You are beyond the short term automatic right to reject and the supplier has the right to replace, repair or refund whichever is more cost effective to them. You can ask for a replacement but they do not have to offer it.

In what way did it 'die'?

Could it be something as simple as a blown fuse or loose wire?

So, died was maybe not the correct word.

It starts a cycle, draws in water, then starts ejecting it slowly out of the bottom of the machine until eventually it realises something is wrong and stops itself and beeps until you turn it off (flashing whichever cycle you're on at that time)

I've tried the old 45 degree trick and water comes out but nothing helpful changes
Filters are clean, no blockages in the pipe

Is it showing an error code and have you checked the pump impeller?

No error code (no screen, and the only thing that flashes is the cycle light)

Havent checked the pump impeller - I don't even think it's accessible (and possibly void warranty if i tried to get to it?)

Got an engineer coming from Candy tomorrow so we'll see...
