    Yes, we could rent a place together but after being homeless and in care for a couple of years I am somewhat nervous about giving up a lifetime tenancy.

    I think your best option would be to continue with homeswapper until you find something.

    Even if that means post wedding you've not found a swap and you're both squashed in your current property.

    Hopefully it wouldn't be for long.

  • Sounds like the HA have made a reasonable suggestion (though it may not quite suit you). I would keep talking to them. Most HAs are more than landlords, they take on some social responsibility. Most HAs I have known are happy to help find a new place to suit new circumstances.
