ford finance ppi

hi,
took out a car on finance with ford in 2003
about 5 years ago i tried to claim back the ppi and wrote to ford for an SAR asking for my agreement but they couldn't find my original agreement, so they couldn't progress my claim further
by luck - my mum has found my original paperwork and i did infact have a ppi policy on it.
I have had another recent ppi claim rejected as it was over the 15 year period to claim. What are the chances of this one being the same? even though i had tried to claim previously and they couldn't find my agreement?
thanks in advance

It was pre regulation, so they can just reject your complaint.0

Hi
Just wondering how you got on with your claim? My husband had bought a car through Ford credit finance back in November 2000 over 59 monthly payments. I found a Ford website that you can reclaim ppi however is says you can only claim if active on or after 2008. Is this correct? We have the paperwork of conditional sale agreement form.
Thanks0 -

It it is a plevin complaint then yes, it is correct.
if its a PPI complaint then you send it to the dealer. Most dealers were not regulated in 2000 and will reject. However, some dealers were agents of the lender and the lender takes the liability. I don't know if that is the case with Ford dealers.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. Thank you, so we should go on ahead and claim back ppi complaint. It says lender is Ford Credit FCE Bank plc. Just need to look now for claim paperwork and contact them rather than going though the link I found. Thanks0

Waste of time.
Ford Credit (FCE Bank plc) never sold PPI, we are therefore not responsible for any "misselling" complaints, and instead those are the responsibility of the Motor Dealer that sold the PPI policy to you (when you purchased the vehicle).

Sale was before 2005, dealer not regulated. Agreement not active in 2008, no Plevin,
Sorry about that.0 -
Thanks yes it was Ford dealership that I was going to contact. Do you work for them?0

We do know that regulation of general insurance sellers only began in 2005, though, which means that any complaint about car dealer sold insurance prior to this date will be rejected without any consideration.
Your reference to 2008 is only relevant to a Plevin refund of excess commission and does not apply in your case.Wendy_somers wrote: »so we should go on ahead and claim back ppi complaint.?0 -
