Does anyone here enter the ITV comps or have an opinion on them?

I'm doing a study for college, below are some questions relating to the ITV monthly competitions. It would be amazing if you could answer all or at least a selected few of these questions as they are just based on opinion. Thank you for your time.

Which morning programme do you think has more viewers?

How many people do you think take part in ITV competitions?

Which show do you think gets more competition entries and why?

They're not free online anymore do you think that will affect entries?

Are people more likely to enter comps with a higher or lower prize?

My advice would be not to waste your money, ITV have over 750,000 paid entries per week for their competitions and when you take the free entries into account probably well over a million entries - if ITV were returning in prizes the same percentage of the money they take in that lotto does (which itself is very poor) they should be paying out around £600,000 a week or more.

If for £2 someone offered a choice of picking one or three envelopes from 100,000 for a chance to win £10,000 why would anybody choose to pick just one envelope - but compared to other things you could do with the money paying to enter with ITV is like picking only one envelope.

to give you some idea of the chances of an individual an entry winning, postcard or otherwise - ITV get 1,000,000 plus entries a week (I estimate 70,000,000 a year or more).

Just looked up some viewing figures for early February and in fact:
Lorraine - 0.85 million
This Morning - 0.91 million
Dickinson's Real Deal - 1.5 million

People generally are more likely to enter for a big prize which is why more people enter for lottery draws when the main prize increases (Euromillions attracts far more money when it gets really large so one can only assume that a £10,000,000 prize is not enough) and it is why ITV often have a large prize spread across several shows instead of several smaller ones or where they had a smaller prize a day this is often now a larger weekly prize.

I always enter by post. I get that the chances of winning are very poor but 3 years ago I did win David Dickinsons Real Deal prize

Any that provides a free online entry route. The text ones are very highly priced given the low odds of winning

Yes, drastically. It probably already has for those who offere no free online entry,

Higher, unless a special interest to them

Yes.

Personally I won't pay to enter a competition even paying for a stamp.
The chances of winning are minute - personally prefer to put a few quid now and again on hot picks on the lottery. I'll never win big but £60 or even £6 is a nice win.

I agree with this, but got free stamps from a friend and have actually used them to enter a few of these comps with!
