Prescription sunglasses - can I take them back?

I really hope someone can assist me please.
In March 2017 I had my eyes tested and was told I would have to wear glasses full time. I purchased my glasses and also prescription sunglasses from their sunglasses range. They are large round ‘fly’ style frames.
Ever since I received the prescription sunglasses I have had nothing but issues with them. I’ve been back twice to get them adjusted as the lenses don’t seem to be placed correctly. Every time I wear them I get an awful headache within about 30 minutes.
After the last adjustment it seemed that I was looking out of a fish bowl lense. The ground appeared rounded which made me feel that I was drunk and couldn’t walk without tripping over. They certainly are not safe for driving either as I cannot gauge distance and lane changes.
So after 16 months of many failed attempts at wearing them 8m wondering if I can take them back and exchange them for a new pair. I feel as if I have been mis-sold them as the shape of the frame doesn’t support prescription lenses and their adjustments have actually made things worse. Do I have any rights after all this time?
They were purchased from Boots.

I'm sure others will be along to give you details of your exact rights, however my view is that after 16 months you have no chance at all. No, you'll be due a new eye test in a couple of months. You would have been told the policy about buying custom items when you placed your glasses order, for most opticians it's a month or 6 weeks from collection, certainly not 16 months down the line.0

If your eyesight is such that you need to wear glasses all the time you should have had a re-test after 12 months anyway, and your prescription has in all probability changed and you'll need new glasses. If the ground was sloping away from you then it sounds as though the lenses weren't measured properly.
Any problems with your new glasses don't leave it so long. Problems with mine were sorted out within a month (Asda).0 -
If they have never been made correctly to the prescription and they have tried to correct many times I think you have a case for refund.
Can you prove they weren’t made to the prescription or is it that you just didn’t get on with them.0 -
Your course of action is to not use Boots again, I've used Tesco for my last 2 pairs and now they have moved over to Vision Express, my next lot might be from Asda, not using Specsavers again.0

do you know this for a fact or are you just assuming that?
I've only just started wearing glasses (reading only) so am not an expert but would an optician actually sell frames that didn't support prescription lenses?0 -
I'm not 100% sure there is anything wrong with them. To explain, I was prescribed glasses for the first time in my 20's and the optician warned me at the time to take special care when going up & down stairs, stepping off kerbs etc as the glasses would alter my depth perception and I would get that continually unless I wore the glasses all the time. From memory, it took a few months before that feeling subsided.You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0

Do you have the same type of lens in both of your glasses, or were your sunglasses 'free' with your ordinary pair?
There's such a big difference between my right and left eyes that I have to pay extra for ultra-ultra thin lenses (not cheap when you need varifocals!) I've only taken advantage of the 'free' sunglasses offer once - they came with standard (vaifocal) lenses only, and the right lens was so thick the extra weight pulled them down to one side. I only wore them once.0 -
It sounds more like they are just not suitable for you than actually being faulty, much like a lot of people cannot get along with varifocals, there's nothing wrong with the glasses or lenses but some people can wear them with no problems, some people take a while to get used to them, and some people never adapt and get used to them and go back to separate glasses for different needs.0
