Have you ever claimed a prize having missed the initial announcement of the win?

Today I did a search on Facebook with "*insert my name* winner" and discovered I had won a chocolate hamper back in February. I cheekily messaged them apologising for not seeing it until now and asked whether it was too late to claim and they were super nice, telling me to message them my address and they would send it out!
I devoured a whole Hotel Chocolat thick Easter Egg (another win) today so the concept of a chocolate hamper is making me feel extremely queasy but never mind...
Anyways, just wondered if anyone else had missed wins but the company kindly sent the prize out anyway? If so, have you beaten 5 months late?!

5 months is pretty good going, I've never personally ... but you do see people posting about late replies quite a lot and they seem to "mostly" be good with it, especially if it's a lower value or self-made prize, ie : if it's a Hotel Chocolat comp and the prize is some Hotel Chocolat stuff,, or a Walkers prize and the prize is a load of Walkers Crisps.
If it was a higher value prize or something they don't actually manufacture themselves then they will probably have given the prize to someone else (ie a Walkers comp to win a TV) and you'd be out of luck, they might still send you something anyway though but not the original prize.0 -
I've had a pack pencils and an umbrella that I've claimed well after the closing of the comp and Announcing of winners, they were cool with it. Nothing big though.2018 wins-12wins0

I won a Brompton bike on one of the Christmas advent sites & had missed the notification (they had only given 2 days to claim) & it was only 2 days later when I spotted I had won the bike, this was valued @£500.
The site honoured the prize even though they had drawn another name and that person had claimed.
Unfortunately I can't remember the name of the site now, it was a few years ago though and I have slept since then :rotfl::rotfl:
