Parking next to a yellow bay - Have I done something wrong here?

Hi All, Apologies if I've posted this in the wrong place but was looking for general advice.

I have been given two PCN's from Reading council(An NCP car park) this week for 'code 86- parking outside a marked bay'. Now I've looked at their T's & C's on site and also the full T's & C's on their website and it doesn't say anywhere about parking next to a yellow bay and doesn't constitute what a marked bay is.

Both PCN's don't actually say where I'm outside the bay or what the contravention is even for, so I'm just presuming it's for being next to a yellow bay? Surely if they didn't want people parking there then their would be yellow diagonal lines on the floor also?

Any advice would be fabulous, Stephen.
