Tax credit overpayment

Hi everyone.
Last year we made changes to our tax credits; removed childcare & increased income. We owed nearly £4500 which we paid off within a week or so thanks to savings. We then weren’t due anymore tax credits. So I thought that was us done for TC. We then had to complete a declaration. I thought it was just procedure. They’ve written to us with our 18/19 award. I obviously knew we wouldn’t be owed anything. All calculations showed we were owed nothing. They’ve not made any payments to use either. Everything is £0. At the bottom it then states we owe nearly £2000!!! How do they get that figure?!! Surely this has to be a mistake?! Anyone else had similar?

It would help if you could give more information of exactly what it says.0

Well it!!!8217;s just an award. All it states is we owe £1900 yet all the rest of the information just has !!!8216;£0!!!8217; there aren!!!8217;t any minus figures either. Shows what we would be entitled to then because of income it takes off the entitlement. There!!!8217;s nothing particular on it out the ordinary.0

You'd be best to call them. Impossible to help with so little information.0
