Working out employers NI & Tax

Options
Hi All,

Hopefully someone can give me some guidance on this, I'm looking at employing someone and I'm trying to work out my contributions on top of their wages so that I can work out the total cost to my business of employing someone.

Can anyone point me in the right direction??

Regards

Richard:confused:

That is a good place to start. The other things to remember are that you will have to give paid leave so think about whether you will need to employ someone to cover for those periods, likewise any sickness. And if you do employ someone to cover for holidays, they get paid leave too, on a pro rata basis ...

  • I went on a (free) hmrc course for PAYE, and might as well have been flower arranging. Course was very good ; I wasn't

The plus point is that they send out a cd rom with the calculator and it prints out all the paperwork etc.

    Easy peasy

(they are very helpful on the phone as well)
    baldly going on...

Yes, forgot to say that if you phone the New Employer's helpline they are VERY helpful, and the CD Rom makes doing the sums a doddle.
