    Update from OP:

My friend emailed Parking Eye on 22/8, so a week ago, as suggested by nosferatu1001, but has not had any response or acknowledgement of receipt.

Should he follow up with a letter saying the same thing? i.e. according to the BPA CoP the time for them to reject the appeal has now passed, and the appeal is considered automatically accepted. We require confirmation that this ticket has been cancelled.

We're concerned that, as they sent another payment reminder on 22/8, they may have rejected the appeal and the rejection letter (together with POPLA code) has got lost in the post.

We don't want to miss the deadline for appeal with POPLA.

    Thanks.

There's been a long holiday weekend in between. PE is a massive parking penalty factory issuing almost 5,000 tickets per day. They won't be jumping quickly to deal with post that possibly won't bring them money.

But go to their website where you can check the status of the parking charge - they may have already cancelled.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Why are you doing anything at all? Just ignore the begging letter and wait.

My friend is a worrier and the sort of person who couldn't bear the thought of being taken to court. :)

    Show your friend this video.
It may help calm him/her down.

Thanks, KeithP. That's very helpful (and also very relevant to something I am pursuing on my own account!).

We'll give it a bit longer to see if Parking Eye cancel the PCN.
