MET McDonalds Parking Charge for 'leaving premises' although bought food

I left car park for 11 minutes and spoke to security guard who said it was ok.

Guess who probably issued that PCN/took the photos??!

Submit the usual appeal - honestly, submit that, no changes, on day 26 if it's a windscreen PCN - and complain to McDonalds as well, which may well get it cancelled. As per the NEWBIES thread where it explains that landowner/retailer complaint is the first thing to do, and why to wait till day 26 for appeal, if the PCN was a windscreen one.

Then at POPLA stage, why not search the forum for POPLA left the site and copy one someone wrote this year, in a similar situation? There are a few MET ones already this year, where their security guard chappie takes sneaky photos of a person walking away from their car, then sends the photos to MET who issue a postal PCN. Read those threads by searching.

Leaving site claims do not do well in court, so this is unlikely to get that far. Have you complainrs to MacD, written stuff on their facebook page, complained to your \Mp/


This is an entirely unregulated industry which is scamming the public with inflated claims for minor breaches of contracts for alleged parking offences, aided and abetted by a handful of low-rent solicitors.

Parking Eye, CPM, Smart, and another company have already been named and shamed, as has Gladstones Solicitors, and BW Legal, (these two law firms take hundreds of these cases to court each year). They lose most of them, and have been reported to the regulatory authority by an M.P. for unprofessional conduct

Hospital car parks and residential complex tickets have been especially mentioned.

The problem has become so rampant that MPs have agreed to enact a Bill to regulate these scammers. Watch the video of the Second Reading in the HofC recently.

and complain in the most robust terms to your MP. With a fair wind they will be out of business by Christmas.
