Mobility scooter

  • Just a quick update as you were all so helpful

I'm also a NHS worker and agree with the posters who have previously mentioned the falls clinics - they are brilliant. I got my Nan on the books a while back and they've done the full home assessment including making the bathroom more mobility friendly.

Nan's falls happen when she tries to rush, otherwise she is quite stable and gets by with a walking stick. The scooter is to support her going to the local shops and down to the cemetry where my Grandad is buried, both are a bit far. For the rest of the time we make sure she is keeping mobile!

In the end we tried a range a scooters from some of the places recommended but bought off ebay from a company based down the road from me, who have been nothing but helpful with all our equiries.

The scooter has now arrived and its like my Nan has her youth back, she is back to doing things she thought she never do again. She also did get her blue badge so that will make life a bit easier for when my Mum takes her out somewhere.

So thanks again everyone, you are a lovely community. :T :T :T
:j Go on, shake your money maker! :j
