estimated price of my car for insurance

Does anyone know if it matters if you give a guesstimate for themarket value of your car to your insurer? I drive a 13 year old Ford Fusion 2 and have it estimated as a £1000. My new insurer said it makes no difference to my premium if I was to increase this to £1500 or so.

The value of your car doesn't make much difference to the premium , they will only pay out the market value.
The price is governed more by the damage you can do to the other party and other property.
You could smash into a £250,000 Ferrari and wipe out the driver and passenger then smash into a house and end up costing them a small fortune.0
