I sell digital goods on a site and offer paypal as payment, woke up to a chargeback today. Guy says he can't access goods.


Now I know I can't put tracking details in given it's digital but the order page shows he's downloaded the item twice, so he clearly can, and has accessed the goods.



Is there anything I can do? Or should I just refund, cut my loses and forget it?

Paypal do cover digital goods, I would therefore upload the evidence to show that he has downloaded/accessed the purchase. You may also get a £14 chargeback fee, which is normally defended by proof of postage. In this case it isn't relevant so you may want to give Paypal a ring first and ask what else you can upload.

Thanks. There is nowhere to upload the pic to show hes downloaded it twice. There was just a reply to buyer

Called paypal, they're next to useless.

She said she'd send me an email listing the proof they'd accept for digital goods.


Since they can't look at the proof until I escalate, asked if I wanted to escalate, I said no not yet, as I'd rather read the email first, so they of course went ahead and escalated.
