Served notice a week after asking for repairs - Private tenant

You don't have to have done anything "wrong" to receive a Section 21. That's the whole point of the notice, it doesn't need a ground.
As I said back in post #5, there are plenty of things that can invalidate a Section 21 so I'm glad you managed to find one and buy yourself some more time.0 -

You had a bath panel replaced... OK.
No, that has become clear recently, and not solely based on this post.
I do and have, and I don't need a thicker skin. When we are faced with an eviction threat, when we truly believe we have done nothing wrong, and then to be ridiculed at what is clearly a bad time.....I just feel it's not necessary, and I question the character of somebody who thinks it's acceptable.
A section 21 is not an eviction threat; it is a declaration of intent to reclaim the property. For example, our delightful next door neighbour in the adjoining property has not paid rent for well over a year yet she is still there with no date on which she has to vacate.
I am granted with a tad of common sense to test a known good buln (2 in fact) and it produced the same outcome. It was an electrician friend who stated it may be a risk, not me simply jumping to conclusions.
As for the cat, I am unsure why you feel it acceptable to deem us irresponsible for that but anyway, he cannot go outside in any case as he has a neurological condition and doesn't walk as most cats do, can't run as quick, and doesn't land on his feet. He comes into the garden with me, where he is safe, but aside from that he can't venture any further. Had we not took him in here (we rehomed him), he was destined for the RSPCA and we later found out, they wouldn't have rehomed him, they would have euthenised him, so we saved his life. But thanks for the judgments anyway.
I was merely stating an opinion; this is a forum after all and I could not possibly have known about your cat's issues.
I won't have reservations about paying for repairs for a property I own, and there is the difference. A tenancy agreements states strongly all repairs *must* be reported, I do so, and this is the result.
It is not often my sympathies lie with the LL and that is an understatement. I think you have more than fulfilled your obligations to report repairs.0 -

So are you sympathizing with the landlord, or myself, I am confused?Live for what tomorrow has to bring, not what yesterday has taken away0 -
Thanks Scarlett, it's nice to hear someone who sees it from my perspective. I have been a contributor to this forum for 10 years, and sadly, for newbies such as yourself, the users are not as kind and as helpful as they used to be. It seems many are on here to simply try and make themselves feel superior or to bring people down.......Quite sad really, when 99% of people come here with genuine concerns, money worries and issues they need advice onLive for what tomorrow has to bring, not what yesterday has taken away0

Interestingly, Smodlet has got his or her comments removed and my subsequent reply. Either that or a moderator has removed them, how interesting!Live for what tomorrow has to bring, not what yesterday has taken away0

I am afraid that there are some users on here that aren't overly helpful.., and sometimes (when a poster keeps referring to a fictional US TV programme for legal facts in the UK) they might attract more unhelpful answers. Its kindof like holding a card saying 'choose me'.
I've been on here for donkey's years. Its always been the same. If you don't like the way the thread is going, figure out if its something you said or stop reading.0 -
