can anyone help us with my friends husband died last year and she recently found a prudential life assurance policy of which he paid from 1971-1976 and when she contacted prudential they sent her a cheque for £85 this doesnt sound right surely after 42 years it would be worth more than that ?

Paid only for 5 years and likely to be an industrial branch policy. Which means it was probably a pennies policy. How much was the premium?I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
