Shifting a stuck screw

    Sometimes tightening a stuck screw will be enough to release whatever is holding it before trying once again to undo it.

    PlusGas will remove almost anything. WD40 has it's uses but is more of a water repellent and general lubricant. Far too weak for this kind of job.
    Try to keep PG off your skin though, it's powerful stuff.
    If all else fails, drill the screw out. Then unscrew the shroud and remove the cartridge with a spanner (and probably some more Plus Gas too). It doesn't matter if you'e damaged the cartridge spindle by drilling, as you'll need to replace it anyway to stop the tap dripping.
    Obvs, isolate the supply before you remove the cartridge...
    No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)
