Credit Rating with HSBC

Options
Hi guys,

My bank HSBC told me today that my credit rating with them is 92 out of 100. Does anyone know what this means? I could tell the assistant was getting ready to try and sell me one of their products which I didn't want so I left pretty quick!!

Thanks for your help.

It basically means that HSBC considers you to be reliable with any credit you have, i.e. you pay credit cards/store cards and other bills on time and have no defaults with previous accounts. Having a credit rating this high will inevitably mean that they will try to sell you more things you "might" be interested in because they know you'll be able to keep up payments.

There's an article on credit ratings below which will help to explain things better.

    I hope this helps.
