LIDL Parking Fine!! Response from LIDL

Hi there,
I've been reading through various threads including NEWBIES and have appealed a LIDL parking ticket from Athena. I sent the IPC template from NEWBIES thread to the CEO of LIDL and the appeal email address for Athena yesterday. I unfortunately have no evidence to support my case as I can't find my receipt.

After sending the IPC template, I received a response this morning from LIDL customer services saying:

Thanks for contacting our C.E.O. It has been requested, that I respond on his behalf.

Unfortunately, we are unable to make an appeal on your behalf. This is because all appeals need to be placed in writing directly to Parking Eye by the appellant. Doing so allows you to retain your right to formally appeal any decisions made by Parking Eye.

Details of the appeals procedure can be found on the link below:

"ParkingEye Contact Us website link"

You can process an appeal via the following link ("ParkingEye Online Portal link")

When raising your appeal please include the following information:

-Parking Charge Reference Number
-Vehicle Registration Number

To further support your appeal please attach / enclose any of the applicable following documents:

-Lidl store receipt or proof of shopping with us
-Disabled badge holder evidence
0Further documentation which may support your case

Parking Eye will then conduct your appeal and communicate the outcome to you directly in writing.

We hope that your appeal is brought to a speedy conclusion.

Thank you for contacting us

Yours sincerely,
For and on behalf of Lidl UK GmbH

Customer Service Management

My question is, should I send the IPC template to ParkingEye from their online portal or should I ignore this and wait to hear back from Athena?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Send the CEO another letter complaining of their inccompetrence and demand cancellation

Say that if it is not cancelled you will shop in Aldi in future. Watch this videp,

    So forget about parking eye!

What IPC template did you send to Lidl? That was an error on your behalf - the contact with Lidl should be a complaint about a regular customer being hounded like this etc!

There is no special IPC template.

Send the appeal in the newbies faq thread #2 to Athena as advised in the FAQ (bear in mind it will be rejected)

Do both. Send the appeal template from the NEWBIES to Athena, and complain to the CEO of Lidl that nobody seems to be taking this seriously, and has not even bothered read your previous correspondence properly. Point out that this is nothing to do with parking lie, and their suggestion to contact them about an Athena PCN is utterly ridiculous.

Please do complain to your MP as well, as this is the only way this scam will ever get stopped.

Jeez if Lidl Head Office don't even know the name of their resident parking firm, what hope is there that they care two hoots about customers.

Reply, and rant this time at this misinformation and demand it is cancelled with Athena.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Thanks for the responses guys, really appreciate the help.

I've gone back to the LIDL explaining my frustration over their incompetence to provide me with correct information. It's unacceptable they fine their own customers and then can't even provide accurate information regarding their ticket. As one user mentioned above, it doesn't seem like they're taking it seriously at all... why bother wasting our time?!

I'll keep you updated with their response.

Do they have a facebook page? If so, write bad things on it.

This is an entirely unregulated industry which is scamming the public with inflated claims for minor breaches of contracts for alleged parking offences, aided and abetted by a handful of low-rent solicitors.

Parking Eye, CPM, Smart, and another company have already been named and shamed, as has Gladstones Solicitors, and BW Legal, (these two law firms take hundreds of these cases to court each year). They lose most of them, and have been reported to the regulatory authority by an M.P. for unprofessional conduct

Hospital car parks and residential complex tickets have been especially mentioned.

The problem has become so rampant that MPs have agreed to enact a Bill to regulate these scammers. Watch the video of the Second Reading in the HofC recently.

and complain in the most robust terms to your MP. With a fair wind they will be out of business by Christmas.

  • Hi there
I received a parking fine from Lidl this evening and note you seem to be well versed in how to go about this..
Please may I ask where the ‘NEWBIES’ template letter is?
I only have just joined forum and cannot seem to locate original source?
I’m also a little concerned as although I have bank statement for Lidl shop that date I no longer have receipt
How do I stand on this

You have hijacked another poster's thread from over a year ago.

Please read the sticky thread for NEWBIES then follow the advice you will find there. If you need further help then please start your own thread.
