My solicitors have finally sent a contract. It looks like a final contract. I haven't seen a draft one!
Do you usually sign this un-witnessed? I ask as there is no direction for it to be witnessed.

Yes, no witness required for the contract.
You won't have seen a draft contract - this is for the two solicitors involved to agree/disagree before the agreed version is sent to you for signature.0 -
Thanks Tiglet2.
Do I leave the completion date box and deposit space blank?
Apart from 4 pages, I am yet to see the full TA6. Is this normal?
The vendor left the TA10 unsigned. Again should I insist it is signed or does it not matter in the scheme of things?
I would ask my solicitor but it usually takes a 2 or 3 days to get a reply."enough is a feast"...old Buddist proverb0 -

You should do whatever your solicitor has asked you to do. If that was just "sign it", then sign it. Don't start adding witnesses and dates.0
-
Do not put dates on the contract - the solicitor fills this in
Do not put the deposit - the solicitor fills this in
The solicitor should send a report to you, which will enclose lots of documents about the property for you to read - this will include the Property Info Form
The Fixtures & Contents form should be signed and your solicitor will have raised this as an enquiry and will not exchange until they have a signed copy (should be signed by all sellers). Yes it does matter!0
