Nationwide mortgage PPi

Options
I’ve had a nationwide mortgage for nearly 10 years now. Is it possible that I will have been paying PPI on this and will I be eligible to claim?

I don't know. Look on your bank statements, do you have a monthly DD for an insurance company?

If not, then you don't have PPI.

It is certainly possibly, indeed, quite normal, to have MPPI to protect your home in case of job loss or long term illness. It would have been setup either with your broker/estate agent/bank etc and given it was taken out in 2008 there would be a long paper trail showing what you signed up for etc.

Look through your paperwork to see how to make a claim.

If you mean complain, not claim, then you can if you have it but you should be aware very few complaints, as a percent, succeed in MPPI given that it's rare to find someone who was not eligible or who didn't need the cover especially for sales post 2005

People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

Its a bit worrying that you dont know what insurances you are paying. Everybody should be able to know what direct debits are going through their bank account. Do you not check your bank statements and reconcile them at all?

I usually find at least one error a year that needs resolving. Think how many you may be missing.

It's possible certainly, but it won't be "hidden", you'll be paying a monthly separate Direct Debit which should be simple to spot on your Bank Statements. If you can't see such a regular payment, then you don't have MPPI.
