Hello everyone
my Motorola Moto G4 is 2 years and the battery drains really fast now. is there a way to buy a new battery and get it replaced perhaps by a phone shop? I tried Googling and Ebaying the make of my battery but nothing comes up or if it comes up it's a completely different shape, so it's definitely not it
will it work out cheaper than buying a new Motorola Moto G4, considering it costs around £200? For those of you who have an Iphone what do you do if the battery drains too fast? bringing a portable charger around me isn't always an option (being a man, I don't carry a bag with me all the day)
thank you for your replies

From a very quick google I'm going to guess the g4 and g4 plus use the same battery.
If you search ebay for ga40 moto batttery then you get a bunch of results some with toolkits from china for about £10.
If you followed https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a1rfMYnMoUI with a steady hand and about 40 minutes you might have a good result for less than £20. Or you might have a dodgy knockoff battery or damage something in your phone.
As battery replacements go its not the simplest but still a long way from the worse too. At least no ungluing the screen.
shame this person is out of stock. wonder if it was true?
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/y-/192562837388?
I have heard nice things about replacebase for apple parts and they do a battery for a g4 plus. Whether its any better I don't know and they do charge a lot to ship batteries.
The hardest thing with batteries is how to get a decent one, not a dodgy chinese imitation. I don't know what the answer to that is.
Best of luck.0 -
It's simple enough to change a G4 battery, you just need a correct size Torx driver (size 6, I think), which is often supplied with the battery. Remove the cover, about 10 screws, battery connector off. Refit new one, job done.
As pointed out above, the issue is trying to find a decent quality substitute. No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
