Talking specifically about the radio app here...

Can it automatically download (a la podcast) episodes of certain radio programmes I select?
Can this be set to download via WiFi only?

If not, can any radio app do this?

I don't think you can set it to automatically download episodes, no. There is a setting to toggle whether downloads should happen over WiFi only, though (tap the cog icon at the top of the app).

Some shows are published as actual podcasts (e.g. From Our Own Correspondent, Desert Island Discs) so you can find them using another podcast app which would allow you to automatically download them.
