Problem with car purchased from a dealer

Hi,


Not sure if anyone can offer any advice.


I bought a car in Feb 17 from a used car dealer. They had a HPI check done which was all clear. I am looking to sell my car now and someone has done a HPI check and it comes back as a fault with NMR (mileage). When I bought the car it had 92k miles on it, the HPI check i have from buying the car is all clear and dated Jan 17. The car had a full MOT when I bought it and it appears in Feb 17 someone has input the mileage as 102000, It's only done 107k now and all the paperwork from buying it says it has 92k miles. I am now struggling to sell it because if this incorrect information.


Does anyone know what I can do to get it corrected?

Presumably the mileage recorded on other MOT's tally's up with what is expected?
If so it's easily explained especially in conjunction with service receipts.

I would suggest telling any potential purchasers about this up front so it doesn't look like you are trying to hide anything.

Nobody is going to take 10,000 off a 100,000 miler to make it worth more surely?

It's on at £3500 with full Ford SH and a new MOT and 4 brand new tyres. I have had enquiries and one who came to view did a HPI check which came up with the NMR query.

I bought the car Feb 17 and it had 92k miles, the dealer gave me a HPI check they had done which had no issues on the NMR. But someone who came to view the car did a HPI check and it now shows a NMR query. on the MOT test for Feb 17 the car is listed as having 92,000 miles, the service which I think is the end of 2016 shows having 89k.

I think the HPI check was done by the dealer and then they had it MOT'd so it appears that between the HPI check and me buying it someone has input the mileage as 102K rather than 92K. I presume this is whoever did the MOT. Although I am sure the certificate says 92K so presume this would be fed into the system?

Anyway it's a massive pain in the !!!!!

I have updated the advert to reflect this but seems to be a big issue for people

The NMR check gives dates, mileages and sources if there is a discrepancy, so what did it say for the rogue 102,000? (date, source)



The sources for the NMR are: DVLA if you fill in mileage when you change the keeper, MOT tests, manufacturers servicing, and the odd letter to a previous keeper.


If the 102,000 appeared in between the dealers HPI check and the MOT I'd be speaking to the dealer, they do have records, and there is the chance you can get the NMR amended if you have documented evidence that they are wrong.
