Downloadig AVG

I have tried several times to download AVG free edition from trusted sites and all i keep getting is a message saying some files are corrupt,:mad: hence i cannot down load it. Has anyone got any ideas please on how i can download it.
If i could i would, but i cannot so i wont, but maybe one day i will.

    Try downloading from filehippo.

    If it still gives errors, delete the contents of your Temp and Temporary Internet Files folders (but not the folders themselves!) & try again. G

    Thank you for the advice for downloading AVG from filehippo. I too was having the same problem to download with anyone else.
    Have run a full scan and no threats. However it does say that my Internal Virus Database is out of date. As a non techie can someone advise me what I need to do to rectify this I am using Windows XP.

    Right click the AVG square symbol in the bottom right of your screen.

    Click "check for updates"

    Let that run and finish installing.

    After updating right click the AVG symbol as before, click "launch control centre", then scheduler.
    At bottom of page click "scheduled tasks", click "update plan in basic mode", then click "edit schedule", make sure both square boxes are ticked.

    I set the time to early in the day so it always updates when I switch on.
    Move along, nothing to see.
