Panasonic Washing Machine guarantee

I bought a Panasonic washing machine in February 2014, which because of a promotion they were running at the time came with a six-year guarantee. The washing machine has broken down a few times and they have always been very good in fixing in quickly.
A couple of weeks ago after it sprung a serious leak they decided that it was beyond economical repair, and offered me a refund of 40% of the purchase price. The previous time they repaired it, about a year ago, they offered me 80% before agreeing to fix it.
This 40% of the purchase price seems a little low to me considering there is over 18 months left on the guarantee and that they offered me 80% just a year ago. The value of the machine surely doesn't half from year three to year four? My question is do I have any ability to argue with Panasonic's offer, and if they refuse to budge is there anything I can do to contest their decision? Any advice would be much appreciated.

I think 40% after 4 years of use is very fair.
I think their 80% offer last year was very generous.0 -
Agreed, based on an expected 6 year lifetime, 30% would be OK.0

Thanks for sharing your opinions.
My question was more do I have any legal rights if I choose to argue with their offer? :question:0 -
A guarantee is separate to any legal rights. If they have made an offer which you disagree with, then you need to negotiate.0

I'd certainly argue and try and get more, if you don't ask you don't get.0
