I was thinking of opening a new S&S ISA with Charles Stanley and see that they offer financial planning tailored to you needs as well managed investment portfolios. Just wondering what the charges are for these services as it doesn't seem to say on the website?
Would they be classed as Independent Financial Advisers or are they restricted to certain products?

I believe it's not independent as they have a centralised process which all their advisers have to use. Also, they dont refer to them as IFAs. They call them financial planners and use phrases like wealth management. That is pretty much what the restricted services use when describing themselves.
I suspect you will find that it is either factory line style advice or high net worth only. The reason I say that is that they target their planners to bring in £350k of fee income a year. That level of income is only possible if you charge a lot or deal only in high net worth or do high volume using the same outcomes for everyone. They also only have 21 financial planners.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0

Why do you believe you need this service? You are a regular poster with some good financial knowledge. Are you afraid of "missing out" or want a second opinion?“So we beat on, boats against the current, borne back ceaselessly into the past.”0
