BUPA Health Insurance - Can it be a pre-existing condition if it wasn't diagnosed?

Hello there,
I took out BUPA private health insurance a year and a bit ago.
I hurt my back tripping over and I think I'll need physio I want to claim for.
I took out the insurance as I had leg pain two years ago that a specialist attributed to something unrelated - and it took me ages to get seen, so I thought I'd go private. It eventually resolved itself.
However, this back issue seems to have triggered the same leg pain. It seems it was in fact an issue with my back causing the issue all along - although that was not picked up first time around.
I know I can't claim for a pre-existing conditions. But can I claim for a pre-exisiting condition that was never actually diagnosed? I think it will be diagnosed properly this time.
All thoughts welcome. It's expensive so I want to claim as that is what its there for. But I have no experience at this and don't want to find I cannot claim as it's counted as a pre existing condition.

When you took the cover out did you opt for the full medical underwriting at the point of application or moratorium underwriting?0
